This is a great entry-level smoker if you accept it for what it is...which is an extremely inexpensive entry-level smoker, period.I did a lot of research before buying my Smoke 'n Grill, aka, the ECB (El Cheapo Brinkman) & it is flat-out the cheapest way that you can get into smoking meats, and it works great! Yes, it is pretty cheaply-made, and yes, it has some design quirks that make it a little more difficult than others to add water or charcoal during cooking, but I paid [$] for the thing and it does a fine job, functionally.The ECB has a near cult-like following among BBQ enthusiasts and there are literally a dozen or more modifications that you can make to it for little or no money that make it an even better (cheap) smoker. Go ahead, Google "ECB Mods" and see for yourself.Personally, I think that if you are just curious about whether or not you would like to try a different type of charcoal cooking, this smoker is an excellent way to try it out.[...]

I just wanted to correct a previous poster's statemant and add some other info;
1st, The lid fits fine if you turn it until it drops in instead of forcing it, the body is shaped off round to allow a gap for air circulation according to the manufacturter.
2nd, The handles install fine if bolts are assembled loosly then tightened together.
3rd, This grill sells for half the price at most other retailers.

I absolutly love smoking, but this smoker is hard to get used to. Took me some time and a few tries to regulate my temperature.

This smoker is shoddily made. The barrel is off round and so the cover does not sit on it without forcing it. The handles seemed to be for a different smoker as they did not line up with the predrilled holes. We had to bend them to get them to fit.
