Forget charcoal lighter fluid. No more electric starters. The Weber Performer Charcoal Grill uses a gas assist to light the coals fast. The Performer Grill with Touch-N-Go gas ignition has been redesigned with a taller profile. It also features a 22.5-inch porcelain-enameled bowl and lid with a dual-purpose thermometer, a Tuck-Away lid holder, Char-Basket fuel holders, and a heavy-duty plated hinged cooking grate.
The cart is updated with a thermoset work table, heavy-duty steel cart frame, a CharBin charcoal holder that holds up to 20 pounds of charcoal, wire bottom shelf, factory-assembled stainless steel One-Touch cleaning system with a removable black aluminum ash catcher, and three molded tool holders. The Performer uses 14.1-ounce or 16-ounce disposable propane bottles, which are good for up to twelve 10-minute ignitions. Tank is not included. Choose from a variety of colors to suit the style of your patio.

I have had this grill for over a year now, and have developed a close friendship with it that I wouldn't trade. Working for GrillsDirect.com, I did a lot of research when choosing my grill. The gas ignite is a fantastic feature – I don’t have to wait for charcoal to heat up, but I still get the flavor of a real charcoal grill. I just turn the dial, press the propane ignite button and I'm set. I'm not wasting money on propane, either - each can lasts me over 10 uses. Another feature that I find so convenient is the Tuck-Away lid holder - you just pick up the lid and slide it into place.
I am not a huge fan of grilling meat, so I tend to make a lot of grilled pizzas. It's easy and delicious; I included how I grill my pizzas below. Try it!
Tips on Grilling a Pizza:
(Works with any standard dough recipe)
Place one raw pizza crust on a clean, oiled and preheated grill. I spread olive oil and corn meal on each side of the crust - it provides great texture and flavor. Grill the pizza crust for about 3 minutes on direct heat (don’t open grill to peek). Let cool. Flip grill side up and top with your favorite pizza toppings (I use basil and ricotta on every pizza I make – the combination of flavors is delightful on grilled pizzas). Now place your pizza on indirect heat. This cooking process may take a little longer, but it gives the best results. Wait until cheese is melted or until pizza gets a little crispy. Remove from heat, let sit for a few minutes, slice and enjoy!

We ordered both the Cover and Grill after much research. This website received great ratings. However, When we received our Grill the top of the Grill was damaged with a good size dent that caused the porcelain to chip both on the outside and inside. We called Hayneedle and was directed to Weber who is suppose to send out a replacement lid ASAP. The shipping time from Hayneedle was way above average. If not for the damage, I would have rated them 5 Star! They did document the damage and was very helpful. Actually they were more friendlier than the CSR that I called at Weber in Chicago. We have been using Weber Products for over 35 years and would buy nothing else!

Exactly the product I wanted, and delivered within 3-days. In fact, it was delivered one day sooner than expected. I have used Weber products for over 25-years. I have a gas grill and now a new charcoal grill; the Weber Performer Touch-N-Go...NICE!

This item was on back order and took a very long time to arrive. In fact, I've only had it for a few days now, so I can't comment on how the food turns out. However, I can say it looks terrific now that it's all put together and has many great features. I look forward to barbecuing as long as the hot weather holds up in Southern California and definitely in the years to come.
