Plug In and Grill Out With Electric Grills
Electric Grills: Flavor Without the Flame
Electric grills create the same great flavor as gas and charcoal models, but with some very important differences. Because they cook with electric heating elements rather than burning fuel, they produce no fire -- great news for balcony barbecuers living in apartments or condos with open flame restrictions. If you're tired of dealing with lighter fluid, charcoal, natural gas lines, or propane tank refueling, this is the easier, healthier, and environmentally friendlier alternative.
Know Your Electric Grill Types
The flameless process opens up new spaces for outdoor cooking and BBQ. Poolsides, yachts, condo balconies, or ordinary backyards -- if there's a place to plug in, your outdoor grill goes there.
Of course size and style are still important considerations. Explore our selection, featuring four main types.
Grills with carts: This is your standard outdoor BBQ, complete with wheeled base and side trays or storage grate (see brand descriptions for more details).
Built-in: This is the perfect choice for permanent outdoor kitchens or backyard islands of stone or brick. Our built-in styles from Electri-Chef offer large cooking surfaces and weather-resistant stainless steel construction.
Portable: Our portable or tabletop models are designed for camping and tailgating, or for those who prefer the convenience of a small design that's easy to store and keep clean.
Pedestal/Post: This alternative to built-ins and islands features a space-saving design. A pedestal or post model must be permanently anchored to your patio or porch for stability.
Square Inches and Round Burgers: The length of the cooking surface multiplied by its width equals total cooking surface in square inches. As a rough rule of thumb, a 400- square-inch surface cooks about 19 to 20 burgers at once.
Electri-Chef lines are made in the USA, and feature huge cooking surfaces plus great features like dual control for cooking different foods simultaneously at various temperatures. They offer tabletop and built-in models for outdoor kitchens, as well as spacious, storage-equipped carts.
Apart from cool contemporary finishes, Char-Broil's most distinctive feature is a patented infrared cooking system. This system retains moisture without the dreaded "burger shrink," creating juicier, evenly cooked meat.
Meco grill carts feature handy side trays and three different element positions, including vertical for indirect rotisserie.
"My husband adores the bbq smoker I ordered for him! He's now told all his buddies about your barbeque smoker site. When I ordered a bbq smoker, I couldn't believe how easy the site was to get information, see the products (great pictures, by the way!), and check out. And then when the bbq smoker arrived on time, in perfect condition, and right at our front door - my husband was really surprised. Now he goes to your site all the time. Thank you."
