Mmmm. You can smell delicious aromas rising from the Weber Genesis S-310 Gas Grill, the star of your patio or deck. This attractive gas grill cranks out the power, but it also turns heads with its sleek stainless steel exterior. The mobile patio grill features 507 square inches of main cooking space, handy side tables, three stainless steel burners and a built-in thermometer. Its 7-mm-diameter stainless steel rod cooking grates and stainless steel flavorizer bars make grilling easy and fun. A warming rack brings the total cooking area up to 637 square inches. This grill has a fuel type option of either liquid propane or natural gas (includes hose), and has an electronic crossover ignition. Plus, the design of this grill is new and improved with knobs in front instead of on the side. Includes casters. Add on the coordinating grill cover (sold separately) for extra protection. Be careful of those mouth-watering aromas wafting through the neighborhood - your deck soon could be very crowded with hungry neighbors.

First be sure to ignore the negative review by "Bill beach cooker". He either got a defective unit or he was reviewing the wrong product. It could be both since he refers to "black painted aluminum" of which there is none on this model. He may have an E-310 which is similar, but not identical.
That review aside, we grill all year long at least 3-4 times per week and have owned this unit for a year now. I've used many different grills and none of them compare to this one. I can't stress the value of the all stainless/aluminum construction enough. I'm sure there are more expensive models and brands that may be even better, but for a frequent griller looking for a quality unit with all of the Pros listed at an affordable price, this is the choice for you. You will not be disappointed.
Even though the exterior is all stainless steel and won't rust, I would still highly recommend a cover. Without one, during a very hard rain, water can get into the unit and will overflow the grease tray. This is not a problem with most rain (when we forget to cover it), but was a problem during a driving rain and did create a bit of a mess. Although, this probably would have been an issue with any grill.
We have the natural gas model if that matters to anyone. I highly recommend this for anyone who has this option and grills frequently. Not having to deal with propane tanks is a huge convenience.

Black painted aluminum cooking box turned a dusty white and required painting every year. Grill was never outdoors either in rain or overnight. Uneven cooking.

We live at the beach so we needed something that would stand up to climate. This grill is mostly stainless, not just the cover. Real nice quality construction, and cooks nice too!

A: Yes, the side platforms do come off of the Weber Genesis S-310 Stainless Steel Gas Grill.
Q2: Can this grill be converted to natural gas to propane or propane to natural gas?
A: No it can not. Doing so would void any and all warranties.

A: The Weber® Summit®, Genesis®, Q®, and charcoal grills are assembled in America using internationally sourced components. The Weber® Spirit® series gas grill and Compact charcoal grills (export) are assembled in China.
